I do like when an adaptation is similar to a book, but if the adaptation is different, but it's a good movie/tv show, then I'm ok with that.

Great discussion!

Sofia @ <a href="bookishwanderess.blogspot.comSofia @ Bookish Wanderesshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05972768298226671104noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8816127547582244710.post-63287508829994965482016-02-21T12:10:32.558+00:002016-02-21T12:10:32.558+00:00Yep haha - I think you'll be very taken aback ...Yep haha - I think you'll be very taken aback - there have been HUGE changes to the characters! :) It's kind of like a whole new series entirely!
Geraldine @ Corralling Bookshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08736170042008371323noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8816127547582244710.post-3428668617696744172016-02-20T14:56:13.026+00:002016-02-20T14:56:13.026+00:00Good point ;) And thank you! <3Good point ;) And thank you! <3Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01271589316422582000noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8816127547582244710.post-86710930527770801992016-02-20T13:56:32.785+00:002016-02-20T13:56:32.785+00:00I think for most people, not 'doing justice...I think for most people, not 'doing justice' to the book means it's not as good as the book. So I think it does come down to personal opinion! I personally don't mind if a film/TV show is different to the book, because I can recognise that it does need to be changed for the screen. I don't mind if the film/show is different to my favourite book - for me to love it, it just hasDulcie @ Riot Grrrl Readshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10592564973574638773noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8816127547582244710.post-23772101691343931982016-02-19T17:38:59.859+00:002016-02-19T17:38:59.859+00:00Thanks, I really appreciate it :D

Does that make sense? I know that for me, that's why I can't stand the Shadowhunters TV show, but I LOVED Harry Potter.
Additionally, for me, doing justice to the book involves respecting the book and as such making a dignified adaption. I think I'm pretty judgmental, but I can also see the other perspective when judging something - the only thing separating is my personal preference!
